Day 112: Korean outing & the real VIVID
I had an absolutely amazing lunch at Sydney Seoulria that was TO DIE FOR! A friend and I went to catch up, it was her choice, and OMG was it the best decision anyone else has ever made for me. We ordered WAY too much food, but it was all so amazing that it didn't matter. We feasted.
From there, Kristy, Erick and I went shopping around Chinatown and took selfies while drinking milk tea…typical.
As good as the food was though, the real attraction of the day was VIVID, the real one. Kiri, Tess and I visited both Darling Harbour and Circular Quay to see the spectacular. It was greater than you can imagine. The lights, the music, the water shows, it was all amazing to take in. The photos don't even do it justice, but they'll have to suffice.

Day 111: VIVID Sydney - Seymour
So much shopping happened today (including shopping for a university hoodie!) I'll skip the stories of how broke I'm getting though, and get to the good stuff.
The building next door to me is participating in VIVID Sydney a show of lights and music…it was shit. They didn't have much, it was pretty and all, but nothing special. They had a computer controlled by YOU (with Kinect technology) that was pretty fun that told you about the event. Other than that, all I got out of it was a few good pictures. Can't complain.
Day 110: Day off
Nothing blogworthy happened. I slept in, skipped breakfast, skipped church, didn’t do much all day besides play with all my new gifts. The end.

Day 109: My birthday!!!
It was an incredible day! I woke up, went to my friends room to go down to breakfast together, and was surprised by 7 people waiting for me, all screaming "Happy Birthday" as I walked through the door. And so, a mere 5 minutes after I woke up, I was thrown into a swarm of gift-giving, all of which you can see above.
The best part, after looking out the window, one of my friends parked his car, put his surfboard on the roof, and written on it was "Happy bday". Best thing ever!
The day was spent inside (due to unfortunate weather) but was spent with good company. After dinner we all headed out for gelato, the same place I was at the night before, and trekking through the rain with our umbrellas, we made it there relatively dry. As you can see, the group that went was amazing and we had such a good time.
The remainder of the night was spent finishing my bottle of moscato I got for my birthday and watching The Avengers with a group of friends.
I couldn't have asked for a better birthday here with better people. It was indescribably brilliant.
Flip-flop vending machine anyone?

Day 108: Private Birthday Dinner
Although it wasn't my actual birthday yet, a group of my closest friends went out on Friday night to have dinner in celebration. We went to a place called Kuki Tanuki, a Japanese restaurant and sake bar. This all went down after we failed to get reservations for Hurricanes. But it was a much better alternative, and the place was more upscale than I initially thought.
The food was to die for and prepared and presented immaculately. To celebrate the occasion I ordered some sake (bad choice) and to wash that down, I also ordered a surprisingly good plum wine.
The seven of us walked back afterwards and stopped for gelato on the way as well. The rest of the night was spent in, drinking, having fun, and ultimately ending with watching the movie Thor. It was an amazing start to my real birthday :)

Day 107: Fangirl <33
For the most part, today sucked. Pharmacology sucks. But my friend took me out to the movies for my birthday (saw Hangover III).
BUT the best part of my day was hanging out with this girl here. My fellow K-Pop loving friend Anggie. We did a reaction video to the new release of EXO-K's "Wolf." It was supposed to come out at 4pm here…supposed to
This is us waiting for it to come out. She's a lot more interesting (and obsessed) than I am, lol. But that's why I love her <3

Day 106: An early birthday outing
My American friend I've made here (Chris), knowing it was my birthday on Saturday, decided to take out today to celebrate since we're both busy this weekend. He took me to a nice Yum Cha place (generously paid) and then we went to the amazing food court in Westfield where I got that lovely black forest cake *drool*
Fast forward to the evening. My best friend Jack had a super official summit that he presented at today. Kiri, Jay and I went to support him. (Not coincidentally at all) we ran into Jack's dad. Luckily I got the chance to meet him and introduce myself. Come July I'll be going back to Brisbane to stay with Jack and his family, so meeting his dad now was important. I made a good impression though…I hope ^_^"

Day 105: Antique Shopping
So while my bestie was out on a date with my other friend, I was essentially alone. This meant it was time for another adventure. I've been meaning to hit up the antique shops I've seen here while running, and it was the perfect time for that.
However, Australian antique shops have NOTHING on American ones. All there was was bulk furniture and random decorations. No jewelry, not old keys, charms, or other collectables. It was worth the trip out though. Interesting to see what Sydney has to offer, and a good walk to clear my mind.
Day 104: Motivation
While my typical Mondays are usually spent galavanting all over town, I stayed in this week. After finding a spark of motivation, I ended up writing 1700 words of my essay that’s due next week Friday. Mission accomplished. Day: successful.

This old lady cleaner in my house is frail as everything but was once a world champion ping pong player for China. I watched her play and was astounded how when she had a paddle in her hands, she instantly lost 40 years. Respect.
Day 103 (Part II): The beginning of a love story
I’ve been hanging out with Jay a lot lately. We’ve always been in the same extended group of friends, but we’ve spent more one-on-one time together recently.
It was today that our conversations got serious. He asked me if he could date my best friend here. He knew that she and I are as close as can be and felt the need to ask permission from me to go ahead with his plans. It was sweet, and based on what I’ve seen, they’d go well together. I’m anxious to see how this turns out.
Day 103 (Part I): Jonathan gone
I woke up crazy early to see Jonathan off, way too early. It was heartbreaking to see him go. After one of the best hugs I’ve had, he looked at me with a warm smile and said:
“I’ll see you…”
*pause*
“Soon” is what he wanted to say
“This may the last time I ever see you actually…take care.”
And with that he was off…

Day 102: Nothing but love for JC
It was his last full day in town. We went out for mid-morning Yum Cha with the largest group of people for the two graduates we had. After stuffing our faces, it was a lazy Saturday with Kiri, Jay & I staying in and watching Captain America until Jonathan came back from his day with his aunt and uncle.
That's when the fun happened. We went to take a walk to Wentworth Park. We did some steel wool fireworks (pictures to be uploaded later) and played with sparklers and long exposure as well, our last sparklers being used as a tribute to Jonathan. Yes, we all love JC <333

Day 101 (Part II): BFF's Night Out!
Having been planned all week (with three of us) the night was spent out on the town with two late add-ons. Here was the rundown:
- CHUBBY GIRL'S BUNZ! - A tradition for our group of three extended to the group of five
- N2 Extreme Gelato - frozen in front of your eyes with liquid nitrogen!
- A night out in Chinatown with involved stickies of course! (How cute are we? haha) and the arcade as well!
- A trip for some fatties to get KFC
- Late night shoe-shopping
After we got home we met up with Jonathan again and watched Despicable Me. A good end to a great day!

Day 101 (Part 1): Graduation
It was Jonathan's graduation today. It was a nice sight to see and tons of pictures were taken (this being one of many). This meant though that he was another step closer to leaving…It was still amazing to be a part of though :)
Day 100: And the crush continues...
Luckily enough, I didn’t have a four hour pharmacology lab this week like usual. So I had the morning free (which was spent frantically stressing over LAST week’s lab report).
After all the stress was worth it though and the night was better than the day. I went out again with him this time it was with a bigger group including more of his typical friends, along with his aunt and uncle. We went to a nice noodle shop that I’ve been to before.
After we came back to the house I admittedly fangirled over EXO’s new teaser with a fellow k-popper. IH Meditation came after that. He is the master at meditation and spent I believe around 6 months living in a monastery, meditating with actual monks. He led meditation and I can honestly say that it made it even better than usual. We then spent the rest of the night together hanging with Jay and Damo doing absolutely nothing…and it was really nice. I’m overly infatuated…I know this fact…oh well
Day 99: The return of my crush...
The day started simple, sleeping in, a lunch date with my friend from LA I met here. But when evening rolled around, things became interesting.
He came back, back from Perth. After talking for so long under long-distance circumstances it was weird to see him in person again. I was almost nervous to see him again, after a digital relationship turning into real life…we know how those things have worked out for me in the past.
He came back to a sea of followers all praising him and greeting him with hugs and kind words. It was shocking how much of an impression he’s had on all the people here that coming back was such a to-do. Everyone caught up with him and it was after that that we went out to get some gelato since he was craving. It was pouring outside, but luckily we an umbrella. When we got there he actually payed for me…a sweet gesture, unnecessary, but sweet nonetheless.
The rest of the night was spent with him and others as we were all excited to merely be around him. I knew when to call it quits though and left around midnight to give him some time with his best friend here.
I’m really excited to see him again, and can’t wait to hang with him over these next couple days…but he’s going to have to leave again, it’s inevitable, and that’s the part I can’t take.
Day 98: BUSY?
I can honestly say that I don’t remember what happened this day. I’ve actually been quite busy lately that I haven’t had time to properly update this like I should.
It was cheap pizza Tuesday though and we all got Dominos like fatties…and I also heard back from GVSU saying I DON’T need to be put on a waitlist for next semester, and that they’ll be opening enrollment for the classes I need due to high demand. Yay!
